Mark Westwood's DJ Experiences 'Our business is built on our good reputation. We are always anxious to please our clients!' |

Sometimes Lenny would take a break and let me mix a few songs, and I was hooked. It was so enjoyable that myself and my best friend Dan Aro, along with Lenny’s help, pieced together our first equipment, bought some records, built some stands, and played our first DJ gig
in 1984. Westaro Productions first gig was for a friend’s wedding, and we worked weeks in advance. Lenny made sure the equipment measured up and worked, and the wedding went off without a flaw. My friend branched off into the limo business, and RSVP Entertainment was born. RSVP Entertainment has grown and blossomed through its successes, and has become a
well known and respected Entertainment Specialist. It is with pride that since my first gig ever, “flawless” and “Simply the Best” is my standard.
I
have been a longtime resident of San Bernardino, and currently live in Yucaipa,
Ca.. I am also the General Manager for the City
of Yucaipa’s Farmers Market Night and The
Village at East Highlands Farmer's Market, and run a weekly event with
hundreds of people involved, and have gained mountains of organizational and
people skills. As a DJ, I have
played for a candidate for President of the United States, events for several
members of Congress, as well as State Assembly Members. At the same time during
my career you would have been able to find me on the side of a ski trail
spinning tunes for a ski contest, on board a ship, in Las Vegas, in nightclubs,
on the radio and at hundreds of weddings, school events, parades, grand
openings, bar and bat mitzvahs, church carnivals, in churches, shopping malls,
and all over Southern California. I
have also been a small business owner, and owned and operated 3rd
Rock Coffeehouse in San Bernardino for several years.
I
graduated from and attended San Bernardino High School and San Bernardino Valley
College and also attended California State University San Bernardino with an
emphasis in mass media telecommunications.
I was student employee at KVCR FM and was paid to work on many
productions for KVCR TV, and worked as an assistant producer for a show called
College Close-Up. At CSU San Bernardino I continued my studies in mass
communications and my senior project was to successfully build a small radio
station on campus.
After
attending CSU San Bernardino, I worked in radio broadcasting at local radio
stations in the San Bernardino/Riverside Market as well as Victorville and Palm
Springs. Some of these stations include 99.1 KGGI FM, KBON, now X103.9FM, KQLH
95.1 FM, now KFROG, KOLA 99.9 FM, Y102 FM in Victorville, KDES in Palm Springs,
and as Traffic (Business) Manager for Morris Desert Communications in Palm
Springs, an independent group of 6 radio stations, a magazine and a billboard
company.
In
addition to my work on air, and as a mobile DJ, I have been a life long musician
and picked up my first saxophone in the fourth grade. I have performed music in
some way most of my life, and for several years played with my own band, Sea
Breeze. We played all over Southern
California, Arizona, Nevada and Hawaii.
My
resume includes 5 years on the City of San Bernardino’s Park’s and
Recreation Commission, organizing the non-profit Patrons of the Roosevelt Bowl,
operating the City’s Annual Jazz Festival, and serving as Market Manager of
the City of San Bernardino’s Market Night. On my office wall hangs several
commendations from the Mayor and City Council of San Bernardino.
I
am currently a board member for Junior University of San Bernardino, and have
participated in many productions of J.U in the orchestra playing various chairs.
Through
out my life, music and people have been my passion. I enjoy entertaining and
performing. Most off all I enjoy people, and sharing their experiences—my
satisfaction is a job well done and smiling faces serving up…
